AURO University is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible environment for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The university has implemented several measures to ensure that individuals with physical disabilities can navigate and utilize campus facilities with ease and dignity.
1. Accessible Infrastructure
- Lifts and Ramps: All the university buildings are equipped with lifts and ramps, facilitating easy movement for individuals using wheelchairs or those with mobility challenges.
- Wheelchair-Accessible Pathways: The campus features wide, smooth pathways designed to accommodate wheelchairs, ensuring seamless access to various facilities.
- Dedicated Parking Spaces: Reserved parking spots are available close to building entrances for vehicles used by individuals with disabilities, enhancing convenience and accessibility.
2. Sanitary Facilities
- Accessible Washrooms: The University has installed washrooms that are specifically designed to be wheelchair-friendly, with appropriate fixtures and space to ensure comfort and safety.
3. Mobility Aids
- Availability of Wheelchairs: Wheelchairs are available on campus to assist students, staff, or visitors who may require them temporarily or on a regular basis.
4. Accessible Digital Library for the Visually Impaired
- AURO University supports inclusive education through access to resources like Sugamya Pustakalaya—India’s largest accessible online library for persons with visual and print disabilities. Students can access over 2 lakh books in multiple Indian languages through screen readers, DAISY players, or Braille displays, promoting equal learning opportunities for the blind and visually challenged.
5. Support Services
- Assistance for Daily Activities: Trained staff members are available to assist individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, ensuring they receive the support needed to participate fully in academic and extracurricular programs.
- Counseling and Wellbeing Services: The AURO Centre of Counseling and Wellbeing (ACCW) offer psychological support and counseling services, catering to the emotional and mental health needs of all students, including those with disabilities.
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Emergency Response Protocols: The University has established emergency response procedures that include provisions for assisting individuals with disabilities during evacuations or other urgent situations.
