Dr. Gaurav Ashesh has been a consultant and corporate trainer in the domain of Marketing and Strategic Management with the Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute (ETIDI) as deputed by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). As an Associate Professor and Head (CC), Department of FMS, at the NIFT, Jodhpur centre since its inception, he has delivered various courses for both the PG Programme and faculty development programme in addition to the portfolio of the Nodal Officer – France. Prior to joining the NIFT, he has been a Professor at the International School of Business and Media (ISB&M), Noida since its inception where he conducted executive training programmes for the TIL-Caterpillar, LIC of India and Astra Zeneca. He has been the head of the winning team of faculty mentors chosen by the ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company on an all India basis. At the ISB&M, he was actively engaged in institution-building activities as the Campus Head. He also participated in the programme “Marketing for Entrepreneurs” conducted at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore during this tenure. He has previously held the position of the Associate Dean, International Programmes, at Asia-Pacific Institute of Management (AIM), Delhi for about three years. He launched three new programmes at AIM, viz., MBA (AACSB International accredited) and MS, in collaboration with the Marist College, USA. He has been the Marist-approved international faculty member for delivering the module of Strategic Marketing.
Prior to joining AIM, he has been the Vice President, International Affairs, at the Amity Group of institutions (Ritnand Balved Education Foundation) since June, 1999. As a faculty member at the Amity Business School (ABS), Noida, he taught for the joint Post Graduate Programme of the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK and ABS – a partnership programme pact that his team inked and executed at the Amity Group.
He has presented research papers in international seminars at Paris, India and Bangkok and published articles in leading journals.
His qualifications include M.A. (French), MBA (Marketing and Information Systems), Jean Monnet Fellow (Ecole Polytechnique, France) with the University of Delhi, Birla Institute of Technology, MESRA for Masters’ and Ecole Polytechnique, Paris for further research in the Anglo-French milieu. Dr. Ashesh has an industry experience with the marketing department of the GEC Alsthom T&D Protection et Contrôle, France clubbed with in-house training programmes at the GEC units at Lattes, France and Staffordshire, UK.
He has presented research papers at international seminars at France, India and Thailand apart from articles in leading journals; with the most recent work being acknowledged with the best paper award at the international conference ‘SDVP-19’ organised by the MDI-Murshidabad.
