“During my stay at AURO, I taught classes to liberal arts students, discussed with staff topics relating to precarity and poverty, and attended several university-based events. I found the students to be lively and motivated, especially in the way they organised outdoor concerts, plays and other activities. A feature of the visit was the ‘Beyond the Postcolonial’ three-day workshop, reflecting a shared interest with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Avadhesh Kumar Singh, traceable to my first visit to Gujarat a decade ago. This event brought together Auro staff, students and visiting scholars for lectures, talks and discussions. The synergies created by these Auro contacts through classes and conventions, and the prospect of future exchanges, made this a stimulating and richly rewarding visit.”
