Mr. Vimal A Shukla began his career in 2002 and has worked in hospitality operations at various levels in India and abroad till 2008. His area of work has typically been only in Food and Beverage Service in restaurants and star category hotels such as Leela Hotels, Taj Hotels, McDonalds India, Sarovar Hotels, Marriott U.S.A.
In 2009, He moved to the academics field and initially worked with the reputed Taj Institute of Hotel Management – Aurangabad (Maharashtra). With over a decade of experience and exposure Mr. Shukla joined AURO University Surat in 2011 as part of the pre-opening team. In last nine years, Mr. Shukla has spearheaded the development of the School of Hospitality Management and has contributed to the growth and development of the institution in all manners possible. He has been very actively involved in the curriculum development, module handbook designing, and infrastructure development within the school. He has been in-charge of student training and fulfilling all their paper work requirements for International Internships in USA, France, New Zealand and Dubai.
He holds a double bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Institute of Hotel Management (I.H.M.) Ahmedabad and Bachelors in Commerce (B.Comm) from Mumbai University. In addition to this, He also holds double Master’s degree in International Hospitality Management from Sheffield Hallam University, U.K. and Master’s in Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University. Pursuing his interest in training and H.R., he has earned the diploma in training from Indian Society for Training and Development. Currently, he is pursuing his Ph.D. in Management from Pacific University Udaipur and wishes to complete it soon.
He has also attended numerous training programs such as MICROS Training, Wine Tasting and Training, Research Workshops and the prestigious Management Development Program (M.D.P.) from Marriott Hotels, U.S.A. At AURO University, Mr. Shukla has also been part of many expert committees at AURO University and has been liasioning with partner hotels in Surat – Marriott Surat and Courtyard by Marriott, Surat.
He has published over 25 articles in reputed national journals in diverse fields. He has also initiated several programs such as World Tourism Day, World Food Day, World Pasta Day, and lastly the National Budding Chef Competition (NBCC) in AURO University. Mr. Shukla is highly responsible for orchestrating and executing several theme dinners at the institution.
He is very friendly with students and loves to mentor them in his free time. For the last 18 years, he has been contributing to the industry through operations, academia, research and training.
