Ms. Ashima Arora is currently serving as Assistant Professor in School of Design at AURO University Surat and has a vivid experience of 11 years in academics and corporate. Her area of teaching and research interest includes Basics of Fashion & Textile Design, Draping & Pattern Making, Garment Construction, Costume Creation, Sustainability, Design Management and Marketing and Fashion Merchandising and guiding Design Projects of bachelor’s and master’s students.
After graduating from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru she worked in corporate sector for nearly 5 years in Delhi/NCR. She later pursued her post-graduation in International Business and Operations Management. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Design from Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan in the field of Infant-wear Design.
Prior to joining AURO University, Ms. Ashima worked with reputed Universities and has also been responsible for Industry connect, Student Internships and National/International collaborations and projects, guiding students’ participation in India Runway Week, Green Fashion India Conference, Wool-mark Performance Challenge etc. and representing the University at various events. She has also been the guest faculty in National Institute of Design, Haryana and Chandigarh University, Punjab.
She has presented and published research papers in conferences of National & International repute and High Impact Factor Journals. She has been invited as a Resource Person in AICTE ATAL FDP on “Research Methodology: Design & Technology” and for delivering a Live Talk on Body Positivity in Delhi University. She is on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Integrated Studies and Research.
Consistently learning and updating knowledge as per Industry and academic requirements is her passion. At AURO Design School, Ashima’s mission is to inspire students to be unique in their way of working and at the same time understand the needs of the Fashion & Textile industry so that they become assets to the company where they join after completion of their studies. She focusses on the practical application of the knowledge gained in college to attain better Academia-Industry relationship.
