Living Principles

Sincerity, Satyam
Being true to oneself, authentic and transparent; not allowing any pretense, falsehood or contradiction in oneself is the essence of sincerity.

Humility, Namas
True humility is humility before the Divine, that is, a precise, exact, living sense that one is nothing, one can do nothing, understand nothing without the Divine, that even if one is exceptionally intelligent and capable, this is nothing in comparison with the divine Consciousness, and this sense one must always keep, because then one always has the true attitude of receptivity.

Gratitude, Kritagyata
There is nothing which gives you a joy equal to that of gratitude. From the smallest thing in life to the most important, one always feels a sense of thankfulness and joy to the Divine, to Life itself.

Perseverance, Dhriti
The journey of life and growth is long. Whatever method is used, persistence and perseverance are essential. Transformation of one’s nature needs patience, and careful, detailed application. Perseverance is the decision to go to the very end.

Aspiration, Abhipsa
The ability to reach out for the highest, to boldly manifest the highest and deepest one possesses and has realized. One must have a fixed and unfailing aspiration, vigilant and constant, an aspiration of the entire being, an aspiration that takes hold of you completely, to succeed.

Receptivity, Samjnana
To develop the capacity to receive from above and within. This means to receive the higher, the Divine Force and allow it to work, guiding one’s sight, will and action. There must be a complete and never-failing assent, a willingness to let the Higher Power do with us whatever is needed for the work that has to be done.

Progress, Pragati
The reason why we are on earth: to live, learn, and grow in consciousness. Progress is the attitude of continuously growing in life and consciousness towards the highest and the best.

Courage, Viryam
The ability to give up the known in the pursuit of the unknown; to take risks; to be true to one’s highest. Courage is not the absence of fear but a graceful overcoming of all fear.

Goodness, Svasti
One should not be good with an interested motive. One should not be good so that others may be good to you. It is always the same lesson: One must do as well as one can, the best one can, but without expecting a result. One must be good for the love of goodness.

Generosity, Audarya
Gives and gives itself without bargaining. It is to give selflessly, without bargaining or expectation. It is to give for the joy of giving. It is an opportunity that Life gives us for the liberation from ego and self-indulgence, an opportunity to participate in a greater joy and fulfillment.

Equality, Samata
Deep, unchanging peace and calm. The very first necessity for perfection and a life of excellence is a perfect equality. Equality means to be able to regard and accept all people and events without preference or bias, to be able to see things from a higher perspective, and to remain in inner equilibrium no matter what happens.

Peace, Shanti
For the liberation of the mind and soul from Ignorance, the very first foundation is peace, calm, silence and quietude. Peace is an active state of being where one can no longer be disturbed by life’s changing situations and circumstances and one is living always in the harmony of mind and heart.
