Auro University’s annual sports day, Utsah
“Champions aren’t made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them — a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill.”
Auro University’s annual sports day, Utsah, is the day to celebrate the vitality of the unity, perseverance, courage, and fun. The much awaited Annual Sports Day was held on Thursday, 28th February 2019. The fantastic turnout from the students, staff and the pleasant weather, were the perfect boosts for the students on their seventh sports day at the AURO University.
The COE, Auro University, Mr Kumar Kaushik, addressed the gathering and shared his view on the importance of healthy lifestyle in our life and wished students luck for the sports events. He then, along with Mr Rakesh Shah, declared the Sports Day open. The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way for the torch relay performed by the students who had represented the University at Nationals.
Mr. Abhishek Thesia, national level player, conducted the Oath ceremony which was an inclusive of the representatives of all the Schools. Physical Education Dept. Head, Ms. Jahanavee Ichchhaporia wished students good luck and gave information about all track and field events. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Around 260 students competed class-wise in events including sprints, throwing, jumping and tug of war event. Sports Display, showcased the skills and exercises practiced by our young sports enthusiasts every day. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr Akshat Vin, President of the sports committee.
