The 10-day-long Festival of Learning commenced on Monday, the 23rd July by seeking blessings from the Divine and lighting the ceremonial lamp. Dean Academics Dr. Rohit Singh began the inaugural session by explaining the vision and mission of Auro University.
The Guest of Honor Mr. Hetal Mehta, president of South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of imperative industry academia connect. The Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Avadhesh Kumar Singh explained the pillars and principals of education in his welcome address. Then the COO Mr. Suresh Mathur shared the inspiring story of Rama family – the founders of Auro University.
Ms. Indrani Sengupta and Dr. Meghna Dangi explained the significance of the Festival of Learning and its theme “Integral Inter/ actions” to the new AUROites. Registrar Mr. Ajay Yadav proposed the vote of thanks to mark the end of the inauguration session.
Introduction to Faculty Members
Post lunch, all the seven schools held separate introductory sessions for their respective students. All the heads and faculties introduced themselves to the students and gave an overview of what lies ahead of them in the years to come in Auro University.
Workshop on Interpersonal Communication and Relationship Management
The session conducted by Dr. Monika Suri, Head School of Business explained three important aspects of communication – personal, impersonal and interpersonal – and their relevance in relationship management.
Workshop on Decision Making
A thought-provoking session by Professor Santosh Kumar, School of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences made the participants think why we make decisions and on what basis. He explained the cognitive machinery that records, processes and analyzes the things. He added that process of decision making is influenced by various factors including habits, emotional influences, goals, mindsets and social influence.
Workshop @ Sculpture making by Mr. Abhijit Pariyal
The participants explored oil-based and water-based clay to make various sculptures. Their enthusiasm was clearly reflected in the sculptures made by them including figurines, flowers, modern figures.
Integral leadership by Mr. Saikat Sen
Dr. Saikat Sen is an ICF and ABNLP Certified leadership, wellness and NLP coach. He took the students through a realm of introspective questions. He explained the nuances of leadership through dialogue and interesting activities
Yoga Session by Mr. Devi Prasad
Mr. Devi Prasad conducted a Yoga Session and explained the significance of Yoga in improving focus, concentration and wellbeing.
In the supervision of Assistant Director, Sports Ms. Jahanvee Ichchhaporia, a Zumba session was conducted by Mr. Aman and Ms. Kalpa. The session was bifurcated into three parts, warm up, cardio and muscular endurance.
Workshop @ Bakery Section
Chef Amita conducted a workshop on “Creativity in Bakery” to provide a platform to the participants to showcase their culinary sensibilities and creativity.
