AURO University held its gate wide open and welcomed the first batch of students of 2011-2012 intake with a warm welcome on 9th August 2011.
Day one consisted of the formal registration of the students followed by campus tour, introduction of all the staff members and faculties to the students (Program hosted by Dr Kamlesh Misra-Provost, AURO University), lunch for all and finally an ice-breaking/team building session, conducted by Prof Jonaki Mahajan, Prof Vimal Shukla, Prof Meghna Dangi and Prof Chirag Gujarati. The students got their first taste of in-class activity based knowledge sharing process.
Day two saw the formal inauguration of AURO University. Mr H.P Rama, Respected Chancellor of AURO University, who is also the chairman and CEO, JHM Hotels USA, lighted the “Gyan Deepam” along with Dr Kamlesh Misra (Vice Chancellor of AURO University), Mr Hemant Desai (President, Commercial & Corporate Affairs, Reliance Industries Limited, Surat), and Prof Sharad M. Joshi (Ex- Pro Vice Chancellor, M.S University Vadodara), Mr Sanjiv Shah (President Gujarat Chapter, Mata Amrita Nandamayi Math, Ahmedabad), Mr Dharmendra J. Rama (President, JHM Hotels, USA), Mr Suresh Mathur (Chief Operating Officer of JHM Hotel- India) and Mr Kaivalya Smart( Chairman of Sri Aurobindo Centre, Surat.)
The lamp lightening session was followed by meditation and seeking blessings of “The Mother and Sri Aurobindo.”
Dr Kamlesh Misra opened the House with his inspiring talk to the students helping them to understand the AURO Advantage. He addressed the students to focus on AURO’s mission in becoming a premier University making available quality education and research, with a focus on integral and transformational learning.
The next person to grace the show was Mr H.P Rama who is the dream maker and vision creator of AURO. He briefed the audience on integral and transformational education which is the base platform of education at AURO and how it would help to develop and spread mental, vital, physical and spiritual education amongst the students. Mr D.J Rama spoke to the students about his journey form, “a learner to a leader”. He strongly motivated the students on the special landmark moment of AURO University. Mr Suresh Mathur enlightened the students about the path of success and the choices that we make in our life. He highlighted on the challenges faced by students in their college life.
The inaugural day was followed by another two days of orientation program. The key purpose of the orientation was to expose the students to the AURO way of learning in the classrooms and to create a platform for the faculties and students to interact before the final start of the academic session.
The program was a grand success.
