Orientation Program Day 1 – 6th August 2012
AURO University commenced the Orientation Program for its 2nd batch of students on the 6th of August, 2012. The first day of orientation began with the lighting of the lamp by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr Kamlesh Misra and the freshers. The programme further continued with the formal introduction of the Professors and the staff of the university. Dr Kamlesh Misra then took an opportunity and addressed the new comers with some enlightening words. The students were then introduced to the rules and regulations of the university by Dr. Rohit Singh and Mr. Chirag Gujarati.
The day proceeded with a corporate session by Mr. Debasish Biswas, V.P. & Head – Institutional Sales, Star TV, and India. The students were educated as to how an individual needs to prepare himself for the industry. Mr Biswas helped the students establish a link between how a family functions and how is it related to the working of an organisation. He rightly quoted that, “The industry today requires engines, not the coaches. The students need to grow into the future leaders and not the followers.”
The programme ended up with the introduction of the various clubs and societies of the University to the new students where they were informed about the various activities carried out in a club.

Orientation Program Day 2 – 7th August 2012
On the 2nd day of the orientation, the students were introduced to the teaching methods followed in the university by Dr. Rohit Singh. They were given a session on time management by Mr Vimal A. Shukla. The students also attended an interactive session on personality development which is one of the most important requirements for a management student.
The programme proceeded further with an industry interface which was headed by Mr. Venkat Subramanyam, Vice President, Axis Bank. The students were guided on the need and requisites of time management in their daily life. The session proved to be a very interactive discussion as Mr. Subramanyam answered to the different queries of the students. He also guided the students on how an individual should develop himself for a brighter career.
The students also got an opportunity to attend the corporate session of Mr. Akshay Kulkarni, Regional Director, South & South Asia, Cushman & Wakefield. Mr. Kulkarni shared his journey of life with the students and made them understand as to how small things in life can make big differences. He also mentioned that the industry today require people who are passionate towards their work and are committed towards their duties. Ups and downs are the part of life, one should not get depressed and lose hope, and it is the patience and a spirit of achievement in an individual which marks his victory.
The day ended up with “Ice-breaking” sessions which included various management and leadership based games. These games helped the new students to have greater interaction between them.

Orientation Program Day 3 – 8th August 2012
The third day of its orientation began with the corporate session of Mr. Subhajyoti Mukherjee, Senior Vice President & Head of Operations, Essar Steel Limited, Surat. The students were guided on one of the most important aspects of life like work-life balance, the need to have a specific goal in life, perseverance, constant learning, positive attitude and many more. Mr. Mukherjee asked the students to remain passionate about their goal. He remarked that, nothing is impossible in life, passion is what keeps a person going. One should make choices in life and have trust within them. He gave various examples of his life to make the session very interactive.
The students were then introduced to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), followed in the university. Honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr Kamlesh Misra then shared with the freshers the requisites of the University life at AURO. They were also opportune to attend an interactive session on “Understanding Self” by Mr. Kaivalya Smart. The students also attended the Library workshop.
The programme further continued with another corporate session of Mr. Pankaj Dhatterwal, Head Radio Mirchi 98.3 and R J Rahil, the Hottest RJ of Surat. This session acted as another ice breaking event for the students. RJ Rahil and Mr Pankaj grabbed the attention of the students by involving them in activities like extempore speech and ad making competition. They also talked to the students about the importance and working of the radio stations.
The day ended up with a session by Mr. K K Kapila, Director, Centre for Integral Education, AURO University who helped the students understand the mental, physical, vital and spiritual component of education.

Orientation Program Day 4 – 9th August 2012
The bright morning of 9th of August, 2012 marked a big day for AURO University, as Mr Prahlad Kakar, the Ad Guru of India addressed its students. It was an enlightening session proceeded over by Mr Kakar where he addressed the audience on one of most important aspects of life, “Passion, Dream, How to be passionate in whatever you do and How to chase your dreams.” He asked the students to be passionate towards the goals in their lives. One should not stop learning and should adapt to changes in life. He said that “One should have faith in oneself. One should never stop dreaming, but should keep on asking questions as to how one can achieve his goals.”
Mr Kakar also urged the students to be honest and ethical. The people of any organisation should add value to that institute. They should not always work at a safer position but should take risk and desire for higher goals. The audience was also shown some of the best ad clippings and was explained about the intricacies involved in the ad-making process. He also answered and cleared various doubts of the students. The session thus turned out to be a very interactive discussion.

Orientation Program Day 5 – 10th August 2012
The 5th Day of Orientation marked the 1st Foundation Day of AURO University and the beginning of a new year, a new era, a new dawn in academics. This auspicious day began with the lighting of the lamp and chanting of the Saraswati Vandana. The programme proceeded with the introduction of H.P Rama, Hon’ble Chancellor, AURO University to the students. Mr Rama explained the students the twelve core values which are followed in the University and also talked about the complete education system adopted here. He asked the students to be the “Master of your faith and Captain of your soul”.
The students were then addressed by one of the best speakers and industrialist, Mr. D. J. Rama, President, JHM Hotels, USA. Mr Rama shared with the students his own life story featuring his journey from a learner to leader. He talked about the various ups and downs which he had faced in his life and inspired the students to always progress higher in life.
The programme continued with an interactive discussion with Mr. Suresh Mathur, COO, JHM International. Mr Mathur discussed on the various necessary traits of a leader. He enlightened the students on the various dimensions of leadership with the help of real life examples.
The day thus, ended up with the inspirational teachings of one of the best and finest minds of the industry. As the day comes to an end, we all will eagerly wait for the next Orientation Program which will mark a new beginning in the lives of many learners who aspire to become leaders.
